Quartz var: Amethyst (scepter)

Item Description

A gorgeous and fine quality specimen from the Kakamunurle Mine in India featuring excellent, sharp, well-formed, hexagonal prismatic crystals, creating a showy scepter habit specimen. When backlit, the color and gemminess of the upper scepter crystals really comes through. Both the upper scepter crystals are doubly-terminated, and are in great condition, with only tiny imperfections. If you look closely, there is a slight smoky hue in the centers of the two scepter crystals and under magnification you can see tiny little bright red inclusions of an iron oxide species (likely Hematite). This is a truly aesthetic and eye-catching Amethyst miniature from this somewhat obscure Indian locality.
