Quartz var: Amethyst (fine color - rare locality)

Item Description

Here we have a fantastic Amethyst from the Boulder Batholith in Montana. The stone hails from the Little Gem Mine, which has produced some excellent Amethyst crystals in terms of color, gemminess, and form, but faceted stones are rare in my experience. The stone has superb saturated color, with a slight red overtone. The gem is eye-clean in clarity and weighs an impressive 5.05 carats, with a custom "Emerald Brilliant" cut. An excellent stone that might for a nice match to a crystal for a "rough and cut" set, or it would easily stand alone as a top-notch example of these lesser-known but fine quality Amethysts.
