Item Description
This is unquestionably the biggest and finest Amethyst specimen that we've had to offer from the J. B. Ivery Farm (Property) in Georgia. Typically, we're used to seeing single crystals from this locality, often showing pronounced scepter habit, but THIS full-sized cabinet piece features multiple crystals of a soft purple hue, with good form and thickness, sitting on matrix (which is also not common from this locality). The highlight of the piece is that it features a doubly-terminated scepter crystal measuring 7.5 cm long. The crystals show a bit of color zoning with a richer hue on the terminations, and a nearly white tone towards the centers. Amazingly, the piece is in fantastic condition, as nearly every crystal is pristine. While the color and gemminess may not be as fine as those from the more famous Jacksons Crossroads locality, this piece to me is still just as desirable if not more so, because it stands out as such an exemplary piece from this a more obscure locality.
Valued $5,000 for size, quality, aesthetics and the fact that it's a multi-crystal group from a hard to find locale.
