Item Description

This small cabinet Amethyst from Piedra Prada is very nice with its gemmy and highly lustrous crystals spread out across the matrix. The rich purple color is exceptionally uniform for this famous locality, especially in the upper two-thirds of the crystals, and the purple Amethysts are complemented nicely by the light colored matrix along with the dusting of tiny green Epidote crystals. Looking like jewels, the dozen or so glassy Amethysts reach up to 2 cm in size, and with many of them oriented near vertically allows maximum appreciation of their beauty.
