Cactus Quartz, as they are called in some markets, are imediately recognizable for the style. This large display specimen has towers of amethyst to 7 cm on a three dimensional, sparkling matrix of smaller quartz points. You can see why they get the nickname they get, and although thousands were found there were simply not so many of this quality level in this size. It is nearly pristine (just a few tiny tiny dings if you look long enough and close enough), and the display face is complete all around 360 degrees. This is a large specimen of approximately 1350 grams (approx. 3 pounds in weight). Jack Halpern had 4 of these proudly dispersed throughout the collection, of which this was the largest of the group, and it has been a LONG time since the best of the finds were coming out, now nearly 20 years ago.
