Quartz var. Amethyst and Smoky with bubble

Item Description

This is a striking, doubly-terminated Amethyst, smoky and clear Quartz crystal from a unique find in the famous Goboboseb Mountains. This dramatic piece is very glassy and water-clear to translucent so that all of the interior detail can be seen easily and the bounding crystal faces and edges are nicely formed with perfect terminations on each end! The ethereal, grape-purple Amethyst phantom at the interior makes up much of the crystal and has nebulous boundaries with the enveloping and somewhat intergrown light smoky areas that is complemented by patchy colorless areas. There are some subtle, stacked, parallel inclusions within the crystal that are shaped almost like incomplete crystals and these are augmented by several fluid inclusions, one that has a moving bubble! One termination shows both smoky and amethystine characteristics and the opposing termination is somewhat milky, making for a very distinctive specimen.
