Item Description
Sharp grape juice colored purple tips decorate this classic, typical but fine, example of amethyst from the famous Veracruz mining area. Normally they are more pale in color. These tips are really saturated, which makes it much more of a contrast, and so a bit better than most similar examples. The crystals show strong color gradient from white to purple, so many people might label these as Quartz and Amethyst or Quartz changing into amethyst. Crystals to 2.5 cm. Likely, an older specimen from the 1980s or 1990s. Valued $400-500.
