The Kedon rhyolite deposit, in Far-Eastern or Siberia Russia is well-known for exceptional amethyst crystals and this is a beautiful matrix example. A striking, 3.6 cm, gem amethyst crystal is aesthetically set on the sculptural small cabinet matrix. The adorable, sharply terminated, very glassy crystal with satin luster faces has variable rich grape-purple to blush-purple color, which are enhanced by the interior veils. The purple color is deepest at the termination. Complete all-around and pristine, a back termination face has skeletal features, that really enhance the crystal. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. These came out in the 1970s to 1990s, with very few since.
