Item Description

Exquisite and flower-like grouping of rich purple Amethyst crystals exhibiting an advanced skeletal growth habit captured in a concave shaped matrix. The prismatic crystals may also exhibit some interesting patterns which are dissolution features from when they formed, giving subtle surface details to the crystals. Evidence of this can be seen in the large 4.7 cm central Amethyst crystal where there is an apparent etched hole extending down into the center of the crystal. Upon closer inspection of the crystals with a loop, the terminations also have fine reddish hair-like inclusions. The crystals are in excellent condition with only a little chatter and a small nick to one termination. As noted on the base, there is a label that says the piece has been repaired (but we have not found where, so one assumes a contact repair of a crystal into the cluster). A very interesting Amethyst specimen because it is such a nicely balanced complement with the matrix, whereas most are just singles or off matrix. This aesthetic cluster has outstanding color and exceptional crystallography. Previous owner provided a custom ($145) lucite base for display.
