Quartz var: Amethyst

Item Description

A showy and aesthetic group of very gemmy, sharp, lustrous, hexagonal prisms of beautiful colored Amethyst from Piedra Parada (the old "Las Vigas" locality). The crystals are nearly white/colorless at the base, but the upper portions show a wonderful purple hue with near water-clear transparency. One of the crystals has an indentation on the termination where another Quartz crystal once grew, but it was separate at some point, either underground or after it was collected. This indentation makes for a really unique shape in the termination of the crystal, and it's completely natural, and certainly not damage. A lovely example of these most-classic Amethyst crystals, which rank among the best examples of this purple variety of Quartz in the world.
