Item Description
This is quite simply a beautiful amethyst from an unusual older Mexican location and find. It has a pleasing lavender color variation, and forms a carpet of sparkling crystals over massive quartz matrix. Some calcite is underneath. It has a better brightness and sparkle than similarly-looking Brazilian material, and is distinct in person. This carries an exhibition label noting donation by Richard and Helen Rice.
