Item Description
A beautiful sliced and polished nodule of multi-color Agate from Železnice (formerly Eisenstadtel) in the Czech Republic. The first written mention of Železnice dates back to 1318, and Agate specimens have been coming out for hundreds of years. This particular piece features beautifully rich bands of red, purple and lavender Agate, with a gemmy, virtually colorless Quartz "core". Specimen weight is 87.90 grams.
From the collection of Dr. Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and systematic mineral collector from Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). This piece is pictured on mindat.org at https://www.mindat.org/photo-201085.html
