Item Description

Lovely agate from the Rio Grande do Sul region of Brazil. There are numerous colorful, concentric bands in this piece and their definition is absolutely excellent. Colors include orange-brown, blue-gray, medium brown, dove gray and very thin off-white to those with a bluish hue. The colors complement and contrast each other beautifully, which accentuates the sharp banding even more. The center is open and lined with stubby Quartz crystals that are ultimately part of the coarse granular Quartz that forms a thick, 2 cm milky to whitish band that comprises one-third of the specimen. This is one of the more aesthetic patterned agates I have seen from this region, and it displays perfectly from both sides, with only the front side polished.
