Item Description

This piece comes with a label from Keith Williams that states it's from the Akchatau Mine in Kazakhstan, which is actually better known for its Smoky Quartz crystals. This mine's claim to fame was that it was the source of the some incredible purple Creedites back in the 1990s. This group almost has a "Herkimer" appearance as the crystals are notably colorless and predominantly pyramidal in habit, with very sharp lustrous faces and superb gem clarity. The largest Quartz measures 2.7 cm. Very good condition on the display side (only a few tiny nicks), and fairly complete on the back though there is a point of contact where it was removed from the pocket wall.
