Quartz (scepter) with Fluorite and Sphalerite

This remote Chinese locality has become a prolific producer of fine quality crystallized specimens. This beautiful small cabinet / large miniature display specimen features a fantastic quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy/translucent scepter habit Quartz crystal featuring a group of very gemmy, colorless, Fluorite crystals at the base which measure up to 1.8 cm, and topped off by a modified crystal group of dark golden-brown Sphalerite measuring 2.2 cm at the top. One of Fluorites crystals is so transparent that you can see directly through it to the Quartz underneath! The habit of the Fluorites ranges from octahedral to a combination of cube, octahedral and dodecahedral faces, and if you look closely, you can see complex modifying faces, creating an almost "disco ball", like effect.. Overall, the piece is in superb condition, as I cannot find any major damage with the naked eye. A fantastic and incredibly showy, three-dimensional and aesthetic display specimen of this gorgeous material. Priced at $1,500 in the inventory.
