Item Description

A rich, showy and uncommon, two-sided combination rib from this less well-known Peruvian locale. Glassy milky quartz points are festooned, porcupine-style on all sides of the sculptural rib coated with rosettes of tiny, pastel-pink rhodochrosite rhombs. The quartz crystals are much more dense on one side. One side has a few, nifty frosted pyritohedrons (RARE for the locale), while the other side, with more quartz crystals, has more pyrites along with cluster of tiny sulfides (probably sphalerite). Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a couple of hard-to-see broken quartz points. A very choice and rare combination piece for the locale from the Art Soregaroli Collection.
