Item Description

VERY RARE and showy combination material from this well-known large Copper Country mine. A sculptural vug in the granular quartz and basalt matrix wedge is lined with RARE for the locale, glassy, transparent to translucent quartz crystals, to about 1.0 cm. The quartz crystals are richly and dramatically included-with and embedded-with hackly Copper and VERY RARE tiny Hematite botryoids. There is also green epidote or chlorite in the granular quartz matrix. The C & H Conglomerate Lode was discovered in 1864 and eventually totaled 34 shafts, through absorption of other mines. It finally closed in 1968 and was the most productive lode in the district. A superb and RARE combination from the Ben Vone Collection.
