Item Description
This piece came labeled as coming from Willington, CT, but I don't know if it's from the well-known Becker Quarry, as it doesn't quite resemble specimens I've seen from that locale. With that said, the piece features several sharp, well-formed, very lustrous, slightly smoky colored crystals with predominant pyramidal faces that show a slightly skeletal / 'window' habit in areas. Overall, the front display side of the piece is in excellent shape, but the sides and back are contacted. A bit of associated black Schorl and silvery Muscovite can be seen on the lower portion of the specimen. A hard to find Quartz specimen that would make a nice addition to any New England suite or worldwide Quartz collection. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
