Quartz is beloved for its wide range of habits and styles found around the world. Certainly some of the most distinctive Quartz specimens are the attractive "Faden" crystals, seen in found in Alpine and "Alpine-type" deposits, and despite the countless Quartz specimens found in Arkansas, "Fadens" are RARE! This is one of only a very few examples we've seen from Arkansas, and it's the ONLY thumbnail! This specimen shows the classic "Faden" (German word for string) line that runs across the of the superb, sharp, lustrous, colorless, GEM/gemmy tabular crystal creating this beautiful display specimen. A very worthwhile piece for any collector of Quartz or thumbnails. The overall quality is very good, and I can't find any major damage anywhere. You'd be hard-pressed to find another like this anywhere on the market. From the collection of Kyle Kevorkian, noted thumbnail collector and member of the Young Mineral Collectors group, and originally from the collection of Tom Moore, the senior editor of the Mineralogical Record, and an accomplished thumbnail collector for decades.
