Quartz (rare color) included with Hematite

These distinctive and beautiful Quartz specimens from Dalnegorsk are certainly some of the most singular examples of Quartz from any locality. They are often referred to as being "red" in color, but they are truly more of a rich peachy-orange color, which to me is rarer than red examples of Quartz that can be found from many world localities. These pieces from Dalnegorsk truly do not resemble any other Quartz I can remember seeing. Like most Quartz specimens with this hue, the color is due to Hematite (or at least some kind of iron oxide) inclusions. This piece is a showy small cabinet filled with excellent, sharp, well-formed narrow prisms of Quartz with that eye-catching hue measuring up to 2.1 cm long flaring out of the underlying matrix. Most of the crystals are undamaged, but there are some broken crystals as well, so the piece is not completely pristine. My favorite aspect of the piece is that the crystals are not 100% included, as the tips show a soft white hue where the Hematite / iron oxide could not completely fill in. It creates a very striking appearance and makes the piece quite singular and eye-catching.
