Item Description

This is certainly the first specimen of this material that we've ever had to offer in the auctions. There are many localities in Jefferson County, Montana for Quartz, but pseudomorphs of any kind are almost never seen. This piece is a really special pseudo as it features translucent, soft pinkish colored Quartz (var: Chalcedony) which have replaced a semi-"spray"-like group of preexisting Hemimorphite crystals! The label accompanying the piece stats that it is only from Jefferson County, no specific mine. The only report of Hemimorphite from Jefferson County is at the Elkhorn Mine, and I can't find anything that resembles this specimen anywhere. It's a significant and important piece due to its uniqueness, as I can't say that I've seen anything like it. I honestly value this around $800-$1200. From the noted pseudomorph collection of Dr. Wouter van Tichelen of Belgium.
