Item Description
I had to do a bit of digging to find out about this locality, I was able to find an article by Chris Tucker on the-vug.com (http://www.the-vug.com/vug/summitmontanalocal.html#.V_El3fkrJD8 - no photos available) that talks about the material, but I couldn't find it listed on the larger online databases like mindat.org or webmineral.com. The article did mention that this locality is the source of the finest examples of Hemimorphite from the United States. This is an interesting replacement / pseudomorph specimen from this lesser known locale featuring sugary / drusy white Quartz which has completely coated and replaced preexsiting crystals of Hemimorphite on matrix. The largest crystal measures 8 mm long. I haven't seen many pieces of this material, and they are incredibly rare on the market. If you collect pseudomorphs or interesting specimens from the US, don't miss out on this rarity. From the pseudomorph collection of Wouter Van Tichelen.
