Item Description
The Houdaille Quarry in Little Falls, New Jersey is best known for its superb rich orange-red Stilbite specimens and golden Calcite crystals, but it's also the source of some of the best quality "casts" of Quartz after Glauberite from any trap rock locality in the state. This piece features attractive sandy colored pseudomorphs / "casts" of Quartz which have completely replaced preexisting Glauberite crystals, leaving completely hollow cavities behind. These are clearly Glauberite are not Anhydrite based upon the diamond-shaped cross section of the crystals. The "casts" are really sharp and defined, not distorted or "mottled" at all. A really attractive and fine quality display specimen of these wonderful specimens from Little Falls.
