Quartz pseudomorph after Aragonite (ex Dr. Wouter van Tichelen Collection)

Item Description

A good quality, well-preserved pseudomorph featuring soft beige colored Quartz after a pseudo-hexagonal twinned crystal group of Aragonite creating a complete "floater" specimen. I really love how well-preserved the growth lines are on both sides of the piece, as those kind of subtle forms are often lost when a species is pseudomorphed. We've only had a handful of these specimens over the years, and they stand out as some of the more interesting and attractive pseudomorphs from any locality in Mexico. These hard to find pseudomorphs were once referred to as "Indian pesos" years ago by collectors. From the noted pseudomorph collection of Dr. Wouter van Tichelen of Belgium.
