Item Description

This interesting Quartz after Siderite pseudomorph originates from the Wouter van Tichelen collection, a famous collector that specialized in pseudomorphs and built one of the greatest and broadest collections of such oddities. The Quartz preserves the rhombohedral shape of the individual Siderite crystals in the cluster and gives the pseudomorph a fuzzy appearance. The Quartz pseudos have a pleasing translucent pale blue tint to them and average just over 1 cm insize. There are small clusters of a later generation of sub-millimeter, orange-tan Siderite crystals sprinkled on pseudos for accent and aesthetics. Superb example of this classic material. Ex.
