Quartz ps. Laumontite

Item Description

Sharp and attractive, this Quartz after Laumontite pseudo is from the North Flinders Range in South Australia. The multiple crystals create an interesting geometry as they are oriented in different directions, and there is a nice sparkle to the drusy surface of the rust-colored Quartz. Specimens of similar habit from the Mt. Gee mine have been tentatively thought of as Feldpar after Schorl, but the surface characteristics are clearly different on this choice thumbnail. Formerly in the collection of Willard Perkins (still in the original 'Perky box'), this was #11,816 in Kay's collection.
