Quartz ps. Fluorite (ex. Wouter van Tichelen)

Item Description

Here we have another great pseudomorph from the Wouter Van Tichelen collection: This happens to be a Quartz pseudomorph after octahedral Fluorite from the Huanzala Mine in Peru. There is a prominent octahedron that measures 2.4 cm across and it is framed in the front and on each side by smaller octahedrons that aren't quite as well defined. They are all a translucent whitish gray with the larger one having a purplish tint to the faces and the edges are distinctly more white. The bottom reveals that the largest pseudomorph isn't complete as there are remnants of pale violet, gemmy Fluorite there within...which probably attributed to the purple hue of the pseudomorph. The surface of all of the pseudomorphs is covered in drusy Quartz. In excellent condition. Ex. Wouter van Tichelen collection (probably the largest and broadest overall pseudomorph collection I am aware of , so this is a nice provenance)
