Quartz ps. Danburite w/ Calcite (Cook & Wood Coll.)

Item Description

Sparkly, sugary drusy quartz has pseudomorphed a striking and superb large danburite crystal from the famous polymetallic skarn mines at Charcas. As you can see, the complete all-around and pristine pseudo is partially hollow, making this a partial epimorph. The pseudomorph beautifully preserves the textbook danburite crystal form with the sharp chisel termination. An outstanding, large pseudomorph, accented with calcite rhombs on both sides. Even better in person, where you can really appreciate how glittery the crystallized, sugary surface is. Older material. Formerly in the Bruce and Paula Wood Collection of Puyallup, Washington.
