Item Description

Specimens from the South Comobabi mountains location are extremely rare on the market. This piece consist of well defined "casts" of sparkling druzy white Quartz over preexisting scalenohedral Calcite crystals that has since dissolved. The large cast in the center measures 3.5 cm. From the underneath side, one can see the remnants of the hollow casts. There is additional sugary drusy Quartz growth both between the casts and underneath filling the hollow voids left by the Calcite dissolution. There is no damage on the display face but some incomplete casts due to apparent extraction. An exceptional Quartz cast specimen that is a specialty item from this rare Arizona location. If you collect "casts", minerals of Arizona, or unique Quartz specimens, do not pass this one up. From the De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock.
