Item Description
A sliver of Chalcedony matrix is nicely hosting sharp and divergent clusters of what were once flattened, bladed prismatic crystals of Anhydrite to 5 cm in length. The Anhydrite has been completely replaced by very fine-grained Quartz or Chalcedony and are now a medium olive green color. There are multiple divergent sprays and they are all intergrown to some extent in a very aesthetic fashion. There are even a few pale amethystine Quartz crystals around the base and 4 mm, colorless Quartz crystal that grew down in one of the clusters. An unusual and attractive piece from the basalt cavities at Rio Grande do Sul.
