Item Description
Unusual and rare, these excellent Colorado pseudomorphs are sleek and visually sharp, especially this particular small cab. Originally labeled 'Quartz after Baryte', they have been corrected to 'Quartz after Anhydrite' (a reasonable fix since Baryte is virtually insoluble). That being said, this superb plate consists of textbook pseudomorphs of thin-bladed, orthorhombic Anhydrite now replaced by very small, "sugary" Quartz crystals. Very fine aesthetics, and I must say that in the 'A' shot this cluster looks very much like the famous photo of the Iwo Jima flag-raising in some way! VERY aesthetic exampe of this USA classic.
