Item Description
An incredibly RARE and dramatic pseudomorph from the famous basalt flows of Irai and the Wouter van Tichelen Pseudomorph Collection. A dramatic radial fan of Laumontite blades (a Zeolite Group species) has been pseudomorphed by Quartz and then coated with Delessite (a RARE Fe-bearing variety of Clinochlore - a Chlorite Group species). The Quartz crystals and crystal sections are a nice contrast and accessory. The pseudos reach 3.5 cm on this stunning lightweight two-sided small cabinet. Nearly pristine with only a couple of gently bruised crystals amidst many. MINDAT does NOT list either Laumontite or Delessite for Irai. A rare, perhaps UNIQUE pseudomorph from Irai. Valued for rarity and exceptional aesthetics.
