Item Description
An impressive, sculptural, mounded 360-degree cluster of intergrown rosettes of quartz pseudomorphs after gypsum crystals from unlikely Nebraska. The striking bladed rosettes vary from grayish-white to tan adding color and contrast. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only one bruised pseudo edge, lower on the piece. The specimen is illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the locale with a 2007 photo by another dealer who sold it at the time. According to this old archive, the piece was formerly in the Don Belsher Collection and was probably collected by him in the 1960s or 70s. One doesn't ususally think of Nebraska for mineral specimens, but here's an outstanding and uncommon example from the Wouter van Tichelen Pseudomorph Collection.
