Item Description

The Comobabi Mountains are just south of Tucson on the well-known Tohono O"odom Indian Reservation. Mineral specimens of ANY species from this small, older and obscure district are rare, making this showy and well-formed pseudomorph extremely rare. Sparkly drusy quartz has pseudomorphed and casted sharp, blocky calcite rhombs on the frontal face. The back is composed of sparkly, small, drusy quartz stalactites. Undoubtably older material. The district mines were worked prior to the 1850's and sporadically up to the 1960's. Ex Richard Hauck Quartz Collection. A must for the locality or species collector.
