Quartz ps. After Calcite on Quartz (rare old classic)

A RARE and rich pseudomorph from this famous old mine. Two-toned sparkly drusy quartz has pseudomorphed a dense and showy plate of nailhead calcite rhombs on the quartz matrix plate. The pseudos reach 2.0 cm and many are hollow epimorphs or casts of the dissolved calcites. A fascinating and RARE 360-degree pseudo with only a modest bit of periphery wear, which is certainly not a detraction. The area around this historic mine was intermittently active from the late 1700s until 1990.
