Item Description
Something you do NOT see every day! While this region produces thousands of specimens of calcite and of quartz, these rare pseudomorphs are seldom seen in collector quality, if at all. Quartz has completely replaced the original anhydrite crystals on this full pseudomorph specimen. This is a dramatic and quite beautiful, diverging crystal spray of large quartz after anhydrite crystals, emplaced on a botryoidal, gray matrix. The faintly pink crystals reach 6 cm in length and are superbly fan shaped. Most specimens are just blocky, with some good crystals stuck on ugly matrix. This one actually is a good size, and display worthy. Shocking! valued $1500-2000 because most of these are simply broken, busted, wholesale reference examples but this is a real SPECIMEN.
