Exotic, magnificent, RARE style quartz "prase" from the famous skarn deposits of Serifos Island. Most actinolite-included Quartz "prases" have strongly tapered sharp or moderately rounded terminations. The striking broad ends on the large crystals on this very aesthetic and sculptural piece have rare multiple terminations. Serifos Island is famous for superb quartz "prases" and fine andradite garnet, ilvaite and hedenbergite specimens. Hedenbergite was thought to the green inclusions in the quartz crystals, but has proven to be Actinolite. See: https://www.mindat.org/loc-1941.html. Ex Chris and Agatha Galas Collection. The Galas's were California mineral dealers and collectors who advertised in The Mineralogical Record in the 1970s. A superb example of this rare and highly unusual "prase" form.
