Item Description

This is a dramatically displayed specimen with a gem clear quartz showing a twisted growth along the vertical axis (a gwindel), standing upon a natural pedestal of matrix. The quartz is a fine gwindel, with approximately a 20 degree twist, 4.5 cm tall (4 cm across at widest) and with no damage. It is perfectly symmetric on the sides (not all are so nicely even). This is one of the earlier gwindel quartz that came out of remarkable finds here in 2019-20 and among the first Gene bought for the collection - if a gwindel exists somewhere, a quartz collector needs it! Since then, larger examples have come out and he has kept larger versions, freeing up these earlier acquisitions as duplicates. This is a very fine example in the size class and may go for a bargain here, compared to what folks usually pay for comparable Swiss gwindels! For that matter, the scary thing is that these LOOK just like Swiss gwindels, and yet are contemporary and briefly available now.
