Item Description

A beautiful and showy display specimen from the Tri-State Mining District (Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas) featuring a coverage of "jewel"-like, sparkling, white / colorless stubby Quartz crystals coating a crystallized group of dark golden-brown Sphalerite crystals. I love the contrast between the two species, and how there is just enough space to show the multi-tiered layers of Sphalerite underneath the Quartz. It's difficult to say for certain where the piece is from, possibly Joplin, but it's not terribly relevant since it's such a eye-catching piece.
