Quartz on Malachite and Calcite (RARE combo)

RARE and colorful large combination from the obscure and extinct open pit copper Kalabi Mine of DR Congo. Sparkly druzy Quartz covers the entire impressive, triangular, undulating vug. Most of the vug is filled with very pretty, translucent, pastel-pink Manganoan Calcite microcrystals and a rich peppering of contrasting, green, Malachite blebs. MINDAT lists Malachite for the mine, but NOT Manganoan Calcite or Quartz. Ex Tim Sherburn collection, a long-time collector from San Diego, comes with his label and valued by him at $800. 840 grams or 1.9 pounds mass.
