Quartz on Hematite ps. Siderite (rare combo)

Huanggang Mine is rapidly gaining fame in the mineral collection community, and this specimen is a very uncommon find from a few years ago, believed to be from a single pocket. The piece features yellow, milky quartz, typical of this locality. However, what makes this specimen truly unique is the matrix—hematite pseudomorphs after siderite, an iron carbonate that is stable only in relatively reduced environments. Siderite usually transforms into limonite and weathers away when oxidized, making hematite pseudomorphs rare and highly sought after. The light-colored quartz cluster contrasts beautifully with the metallic hematite matrix, creating a specimen that is both aesthetically pleasing and geologically fascinating.
