Item Description

Naica is famous for pretty much a wide variety of common mineral species, and like Tsumeb also famous for the combinations when they occur. This is classic, yet rare, for the location: a very sharp cluster of galena from Naica, or Mexico, or really from anywhere. The elongated crystals show sharp twinning on several, and several others are octahedral. The galena has superb battleship-metallic luster, and is draped by sparkling quartz that accentuates the geometry and contrasts the color. It is a SUPERB specimen for a Mexico piece, or any galena, and has wonderful aesthetics. Complete all around with no damage. We first obtained this in the 1990s and sold it to David Stoudt for his Mexico collection in 2002...and it is still memorable today.
