Quartz on Epidote

Attractive and highly contrasting combination piece with sharp water clear prismatic Quartz crystals on a plate covered with sparkling olive to forest green millimeter sized Epidote crystals. These came out in the very early 2000s and are classics of the time. The Quartz crystals, measuring up to 3.4 cm wide and 4.4 cm long, have grown over and include some of the Epidote. The basal areas of the Quartz show numerous partially included Epidote crystals. The main Quartz crystals are in excellent condition with some contacting on one end of the piece but that does not impact the display face. The piece comes from a relatively uncommon location in Pakistan for Epidote. It is from the Kurt Hefendehl collection, number AP 37, which would indicate a fairly old acquisition among that suite for him. Really intriguing material that displays with a graceful three dimensionality and an alluring eye-catching look. Sparkling and much much better in person. Old material!
