Item Description
This is an incredibly hard to find specimen labeled as coming from Lone Pine, California (possibly from the Luella Mine (Abe Lincoln Mine)). The piece features beautiful vibrant blue to dark green colored botryoidal Chrysocolla which has been partially coated by translucent to drusy Quartz (the label says it's Calcite, but I can see striations on the crystals that really look like Quartz - and Calcite isn't reported from any locality around Lone Pine according to the entry on mindat.org). The piece really reminds me of specimens from the Like Oak Pit in the Globe-Miami Mining District of Arizona, but it's from a much rarer and in my mind rather desirable locale.
