Item Description
This is a showy and highly aesthetic display specimen from the famous Shigar Valley in Pakistan featuring a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, colorless group of prismatic Quartz crystals measuring 3.2 cm long, beautifully perched on the end of an elongated, lustrous, striated, black prismatic crystal of Schorl Tourmaline with minor associated Albite at the base. The Tourmaline has a slight "bend" near the base where it was likely subjected to tectonic activity during its formation, as it was able to "heal" itself without completely breaking. We've seen similar "bent" Tourmaline crystals from other world localities. For a piece with essentially no color, it's a really eye-catching specimen and would make a great addition to any suite of pegmatite or gem crystal minerals.
