Stunning, RARE style, old-time quartz from an obscure locale near the well-known Tae Hwa Tungsten Mine. A shocking pincushion of diametrically opposing water-clear quartz points strike out from the core of oxide-tinted quartz. There is NOTHING like this illustrated in the MINDAT Quartz Photo Gallery for South Korea. According to the Kurt Hefendehl catalogue, he also purchased calcite specimens from this locale. This unique South Korea quartz rarity dates to the 1960s or older. Note that while most of the material in Hefendehl collection is pristine, or as close to pristine as one can get in general, this has just a few damaged points hidden within the mass of complete points at the bottom end. It is otherwise a floater , complete mostly around except for a few areas of contact on the bottom.
