Quartz (multi-terminated crystals) with Fluorite

This is an attractive display piece from the famed Yaogangxian Mine in China featuring a style that is not commonly associated with the locality. A multi-crystal group of sharp, lustrous, well-formed, hexagonal Quartz prisms (most of which are either doubly-terminated or multi-terminated) play host to little gemmy Fluorite cubes measuring up to 8 mm on edge. The Fluorites show attractive "phantom" color zoning with soft golden, and lavender hues. The piece is crystallized all around, with very little damage, and is nearly a complete "floater". Hard to convey the quality and overall scope in the photos/video, and I feel like this is one that looks better in person. A rare style for the locality. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#277 C), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
