Item Description

The famous Camp Bird Mine, which started operating in 1896, produced over 5 million Troy ounces of Gold and Silver combined in nearly a century. This locality not only produced native metals, but literally thousands of beautiful crystallized display specimens, including some of the best sulfides from Colorado, but it also produced some wonderful Quartz specimens. This piece is a HEFTY (1,885 grams) display piece comprising sparkling / sugary, white, somewhat "fat" or "stubby" Quartz crystals. As you can see, the piece is big when held in the hand, and displays very well from several angles. As is the case with many Quartz specimens from this area, there are a few superficial nicks, but many of the crystals are undamaged. If you're a Quartz collector, a large cabinet mineral collector, or if you like big Colorado display minerals, do not miss out on this one. Great quality for the size, hard to replace in today's market, and certainly better than the majority of what's available today. Please note that due to the extra size and weight of this piece, there will be an added shipping charge. Valued at $1500 retail.
