Item Description

Large, very fine Japan Law Twin that is gemmy with a slightly silky luster. Collected some time between 1900 and 1920 according to a scribbled note with the label, this MUST be from Japan and has the look of the old Japanese pieces. It does not look like Arkansas material, and this collector did not overlap with the modern Peru finds - so altogether this confirms the Japanese origin, although we cannot be 100% sure of the mine. It is nearly pristine, and there is only one little ding on each arm and a bit of contacting on the back of the left "wing" of the crystal. Considering how difficult mining this off of the matrix must have been, and the remarkable size, the dings don't bother me a bit. A top Japan Law twin, to be sure, with fine size and aesthetics. valued $4500
