Item Description
Siglo XX is one of the most impressive Bolivian localities hands down. It is the type locality for many "best in the world" species, and it even produces some amazing specimens of common species like Quartz. Japan-Law twin Quartz specimens are well known in the mineral world, and this piece is a great example of said material. The specimen hosts several very gemmy, razor sharp, lustrous, prismatic, colorless Quartz crystals, but the most important apsect of the piece is one very attractive Japan-Law twin measuring 1.8 cm across which is aestheticially sitting in the middle of the piece. The specimen is associated minor white Wavellite and metallic Marcasite/Pyrite. I've drawn a red line on one of the photos to actually show the defnition of twin the better, as the piece is very three-dimensional and it's hard to see among the other crystals in a two-dimensional photo. The piece is very eye-catching and superb quality for the material. It is certainly one of the best I have offered in a long time. Large display specimen of Japan-Law twin Quartzes from Siglo XX are simply not seen on the market anymore. Priced at $1250 in the inventory. Enjoy!
